New studio equipment plan.

Hi. I haven't posted lately. been busy with the fam and holidays. Hope y'all had a great one. Anyway, here's my issue. I had forgotten that somewhere in my illusive past I once owned an M-audio, project mix I/O. I came across it while cleaning out a closet. Anyway, a couple of questions. First off, my Mackie 24/8 has become more less a boat anchor and, since it's current use is limited to one or two inputs to PT's 9, I've decided to replace it with a small footprint, analog, Soundcraft 16trk. board which I will use with my Alesis HD24, hard disk recorder. The Projectmix i/o will replace my current Audiophile 2496 interface to PT's 9.. This way I will have the best of both worlds. I hope I'm not getting in over my head here but having the benefit of both systems without the pain of repatching etc. to use either will certainly simplify things. Do any of you see any possible problems with this setup? If so, please jump in before I shoot myself in the foot here! I have a firewire card,(my Creation station is usb only) and the driver cd for the Projectmix. I don't remember if the Projectmix had a pc card,(?). A friend who is a computer whiz told me it's not necessary. All I need to do is install the drivers,(updated of course). Will there be any ilok problems lurking in the shadows? It was upgraded when I bought PT's 9 but I don't remember if the Projectmix was on it or not,(?). I'll look forward to your comments and advice. Happy New Year!
