Default Mbox 2 sound problems when running itunes, stuttering, etc.

Hi . . .
Besides Pro Tools LE, I want to use my MBox 2 as my PC's primary soundcard. When I set it up and connected to iTunes the audio output stutters crackles and has an odd delay. Is there a way I can fix this or is it wrong to use the MBox 2 as your primary sound card. I hear out there that others have had the same problem but I haven't seen any fixes.

My operating system is XP Media Center.

thanks,
Daniel

Its a driver thing. Over the years I have attempted several times to do just what you suggest, never successful.
Good luck

It's a weird stuttering delay thing. So far nothing I am can change that. Hopefully there can be a fix someday. Guitar Center told me the MBox 2 could be used easily as a primary sound card for anything.

Thanks for the help,
Daniel

I have been looking everywhere. I heard it's the drivers but not sure if there are any cures to this in the works anytime soon.

There is no solution.

It's an incompatibility problem between iTunes (Quicktime in particular) and the MBox2/MBox2 Drivers.

Lets hope the parties involved get together and fix this soon, as it's the only thing stopping me using my MBox2 as a General Purpose sound card as well.

What soundcard are you using? I have a nice set of M-Audio speakers and I am getting an audible hiss at louder volumes with mu PC soundcard. I was hoping the MBox would eliminate that.

thanks,
Daniel
