Default HDX3 on MacPro7,1 power connection

Hi,
How do you Guys connect power of HDX3 in 7,1? Are you using Belkin AUX power kit with 1-to-3 power splitter? Or 3 separate power cords?
Thanks

Look in your HDx box. It comes with a 1 to 3 splitter. But you might need the belkin one depending on slot you start hdx. It's longer. The avid one is very short.

Hi Arche3,
this is actually what I'm asking about. Should i extend power from power connector for slot 1 and then use supplied splitter or should i connect every card to appropriate slot power connector
thanks

In either case you don't use 3 separate power cables.
You use one.

If you use the lower slots (near to the graphics cards) you need the Belkin in addition to the Avid power cable (1-to-3).

If you use the upper slots, then you use the power port near the top cards and only need the Avid power cable (1-to-3) and you don't need the Belkin at all.

There isn't even enough power ports on the motherboard to do a 1-1 setup with power for every card slot.
