No matter if you run Anti-Virus or not, my advice is to get Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost and religiously make images (back ups) of your operating system drive and your audio drive. Personally I do it ever night and before any upgrade or update. This way if anything happens, like a virus taking over my system drive, I can be back in business in a matter of minutes and all I've lost is whatever I've done since the last image, unless I copy off the data I was working on.

Just my 2 cents here people:

Don't worry about using / installing an anti-virus on a PT rig, it's just another program eating up resources. I have 3 computers, XP laptop (Pro Tools rig), Dell Vostro and a Mac Mini, NONE OF WHICH HAVE ANTI-VIRUS on them.

Be smart guys - use a web-based email client (I use Gmail), don't use file-sharing networks (Limewire and what-not), don't open stupidly named attachments and PAY FOR YOUR SOFTWARE so you are not hitting 1001 places trying to get a cracked version.

Stay off porno sites too and run a registry cleaner (I use CCleaner) and you'll have no problems whatsoever.
