Just my 2 cents here people:

Don't worry about using / installing an anti-virus on a PT rig, it's just another program eating up resources. I have 3 computers, XP laptop (Pro Tools rig), Dell Vostro and a Mac Mini, NONE OF WHICH HAVE ANTI-VIRUS on them.

Be smart guys - use a web-based email client (I use Gmail), don't use file-sharing networks (Limewire and what-not), don't open stupidly named attachments and PAY FOR YOUR SOFTWARE so you are not hitting 1001 places trying to get a cracked version.

Stay off porno sites too and run a registry cleaner (I use CCleaner) and you'll have no problems whatsoever.

Torrent sites
Strange hacker sites
That girl from the Holiday Inn
Porn sites
Cracked anything
The vending kiosk at the bus station.


Still weird stuff happens.... Shan got bit once whem a client brought something in on a iPod. He also had good backups and was back up in minutes.
