C|24 Talkback

I'm now almost definitely going to buy a C|24 and I'm looking at patchbay design and stuff I might not need to have on the desktop any more.

Is the built-in talkback any good? I recall installing a new Pro Control back in the day, telling the client he'd be able to take advantage of the built-in talkback - and it was grim. The internal mic was unusable; you had to shout at it. Using an external mic was hardly better. The client went back to his old system within a week.

My current setup has a home-brew routing box taking signal from a spare AKG C460B via an old dbx 286A preamp. With this setup I can talk in a normal voice and the artist can hear me clearly and cleanly. Will the C|24 be able to replace it?
