Quickly pressing space bar throws off playback

Anyone having this issue of playback completely stopping until you restart Pro Tools? This happens sometimes when I press spacebar twice in rapid succession.

The meters are moving correctly but it won't allow any playback until I restart Pro Tools, very annoying.

Im on PT 12.4.0.294, Mac OSX 10.10.5, MBP 15inch


It's almost like if I press spacebar too rapidly the whole program slips out of sync and has to be restarted. This does happen more frequently when there's more plugins, but no plugins in particular seem to cause the problem, just the rapid stop and restart of the session playback.

can't replicate here ... i tried with Disk Cache on and off ...

Qantas-style: press spacebar more slowly. Sorry I couldn't resist. Would be nice to make a video of the problem. Sounds like an issue with latency, cpu, and the playback engine. Could be anything tho. Never happened to me either.

Happens sometimes here. I tend to think it's a problem with the ASIO.

lol i'm trying but sometimes i just can't resist, especially when i'm in the zone and trying to fly around pro tools as quick as poss

Aha, thanks pal. It doesn't flag up as an error in Pro Tools so we're unable to leave an error message to Avid when it happens.

I'll be sure to pop them an email to let them know about the problem and that it's also happened to you.
