Updater 5.1.1 Download....CRC Errors ????

Hi everyone!

New to the board and already it's been very helpful. Thank you.

Hope you guys can help me with this one...
I downloaded the new PTLE 5.1.1 updater and
when I try to Unzip it I get CRC Errors. I tried WINZIP and WINACE neither one of them worked. I am aware that I can go to my nearest Pro Tools distributor, but why I when they offer a download.

Just wondering if anyone else was having this problem. Anyone?

P.S. Tried again , and the same thing.

Try WinRAR. I've had luck with that in the past for opening zips with errors.

Thank you for the suggestion, I tried it.
And WINRAR is reporting it to be corrupt.

Digidesign says everything is fine on thier
end. I've tried downloading it twice. I've got DSL so it comes in pretty quick.

Has anyone tried the update yet and if so did you download it? [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

Hi

Check if the file is read only.

I have some problems with zip files that was read only.
hope this could help

The file should be about 38 MB. If the file has an odd name like "downloading.cfm" for some reason, you can rename it "511ptlewinupdater.zip", which is the original file name. Sometimes this happens with Cold Fusion .cfm pages, and they will show up as a .cfm file, even though they are actually a .zip file

Thanks for all the replies, but it came in as a Zip file @ over 38Meg. So everything looks noraml.

Has anyone else had problems with this?

If not I guess I'll surrender and goto my local Guitar Center and hopefully they have it.

One last thing you might try:

The original files were zipped with Aladdin software on the PC.

You shouldn't need to download the updater again, but try downloading Stuffit Expander for Windows, which is free, from http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander

and then dropping the zip file on the Stuffit Expander icon.

Maybe the file will have better luck decoding with the same app that encoded it. I haven't had any other reports like yours up to now, and I would be the one that would get them.

Let me know if this works, if you do try it. If it does, then we'll want to take a look at the original, as well as document the error in the Download FAQs

I tried "STUFF-IT EXPANDER". No Luck.

I had PTLE 5.0.1 and am upgrading to 5.1 buy buying the PTLE ptle511.zip file. I cannot open it neither because of CRC errors. I have tried Winzip, Stuffit, and Winrar. I need to know how to get around this or if I have to download it again. I tried to download it again but it doesn't seem posible. I would appreciate it if I could download it unzipped.
