Default Two Keyboards?

Anybody out there using two keyboards simultaneously, one PS2, one USB? I want to have a "remote" in my live room. It seems to be accepted wisdom that USB=bad as far as Pro Tools goes, anybody care to elaborate on why? Thanks in advance.

USB is just as good as PS2 for PT. Wireless is the only possible issue with a keyboard. I've had two keyboards plugged in and operating with ps2/usb and they worked fine.

The deal/problem with usb is that it consumes a fair amount more of pc-power-juice than ps/2. If you can spare the overhead generated by usb - have fun! I need all the power availible for my plugins etc.

Thats just my opinion on it all...

Hey, Merry christmas to all!

You won't have any problems. If you use the USB as the remote keyboard you'll need a USB extender cable. I've never noticed a decrease in performance from using a USB keyboard.

Hello All! sorry for my comment... I was talking about USB Mice of course!!! It's time that i get a break from working... USB Mice caused a great deal of Performance-Sucking! Never tried USB Keyboards though!

Sorry for the wrong information...

Thanks to all for the replies. I haven't bought my USB keyboard yet, but just for fun I pulled the USB->PS2 adaptor off of my mouse, plugged it into the USB port and re-ran my DaveC and D-Verb tests. No difference whatsoever. I do have a pretty bumping system, though (AMD XP 3200+, 1 Gb RAM). Maybe older machines will take more of a hit from the USB mouse...
