If it is an OMS Names document, you can subscribe to it in OMS. OMS 2.3.8, however, does not include a document for the Triton in the installer. You may have a sysex patch names document, or something like a SoundDiver patch editor or patch librarian document for the Triton.

If you are talking about entering patch names, then see the document and application "OMS Names" included with your Pro Tools CD and in our Downloads/Utilities section.

OMS Names Read Me:

"OMS Names" is a small utility application which offers the same functionality as the OMS application "Studio Patches Editor." However, unlike Studio Patches Editor, the Pro Tools OMS Names utility application does not require that you have an Opcode MIDI interface installed. (It works with any MIDI interface.)

OMS Names will allow you to "subscribe" to Factory Names which come with your OMS Installer. It also allows you to create entirely new lists of patches for your devices, or to modify the Factory Names for any OMS device in your OMS Setup.

Refer to the OMS documentation for Studio Patches Editor for instructions on how to use the Pro Tools OMS Names utility application. The documentation is entitled "OMS_NameMgr.PDF." It is located in OMS Applications>OMS Tech Pubs.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">In our Links We Like section you will find the OMS Names Libraries with more information in their Hints & Help section.

Also on the Links We Like page, if no one here has the Triton that can help, you might want to try some of the links there under Synths to find other users and/or other documents such as patch names that you can use.

I found this info on the web a couple of months ago. Try searching on "OMS Names" and you should get a number of docs to help wih this stuff. It's relatively easy to make the sound list, but getting it into the application was a bit trickier.

Just put the Triton OMS patch names file you downloaded, into your System folder->OMS folder->Factory Names folder. I think this is what he's asking...

Let me add some more information and links, and maybe some of this will help, or not. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

On your Pro Tools CD, the installer places these in the following location:
Digidesign -> Pro Tools -> Release Notes & Documentation
OMS Guide.pdf
OMS Name Manager.pdf

In the Download/Utilities section:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/ptutil.html
you will find OMS Names:

How do I use OMS Names?
OMS Names is a program that comes in the OMS installer (included on the Pro Tools CD-ROM) that is designed to allow additional program names to be added to the current set provided by OMS. It may also be used to create additional sets from scratch for synthesizers that are not found on the OMS Studio Setup Device and Manufacturer lists.
The instructions for using OMS Names are found in a .pdf document for Adobe Acrobat called OMS_NameMgr.pdf in Opcode>OMS Applications>OMS Tech Pubs.

Why can't I see more of my synth patches in my sequencer?
OMS has preset program data files that it refers to when publishing patch name information to sequencing applications. OMS does not look to the synth to see what program names are in memory, but instead uses the preset files it has when you choose the particular synth name when setting up device info in OMS Studio Setup. To add more names to the lists OMS uses, a third-party librarian application is required or one must use the OMS Names application (included on the Pro Tools installer CD-ROM) to manually add program names.

Where are some websites concerning OMS Names patchlists?
OMS Names/Patch List Sites:
A good resource on how to create OMS names documents:
http://home.kscable.com/midimarty/CreatingOMSNames/
A good general place to look for synth info, lots of info and links:
http://www.synthzone.com/
Their version of the DUC would be a good place to search or post. There are several threads on OMS names:
http://www.synthworld.com/cgi-bin/Ul...i?action=intro
You can often get a text file list of patch names from the manufacturer's website. A good resource for links to companies:
http://www.harmony-central.com/Links/
Roland's site will drive you nuts on a slow modem, but going to http://www.rolandus.com
and then Support, there are a couple ways to go once you get there:
Patches - gives you .mid sysex files with factory and some alternative patches to send to the synth
Software, Docs, and Demos - gives you the actual patch names in html or pdf for individual synths
You can also search for "patch list" using "any words" and searching in "Software" (not Documents)
http://www.topica.com/lists/opcode-users/
is one place to ask other Opcode users.
For Korg Triton info I would recommend http://www.tritonhaven.com/
For an OMS Names Subscription go straight to http://www.tritonhaven.com/downloads/index.html (it's at the very bottom of the page listed as "Triton Patchlist")
For Bitheadz:
http://www.bitheadz.com/cgi-bin/fram.../OMSnames.html
For Yamaha CX1 synth:
http://www.yamahasynth.com/classic/cs1x/s_omsfac.htm
For Proteus 2000:
http://www.donnici.com/p2k/p2k_downloads.asp
This site seems to have a few requested patch docs. They are listed as Mac/VST, but OMS names let me subscribe with no problems:
http://www.macmusic.org/cgi-bin/links/jump.cgi?ID=1466
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">You may already have the Triton Patchlist for OMS at the bottom of this page:
http://www.tritonhaven.com/downloads/

Download that file, named "Triton", and place it in your System Folder -> OMS Folder - Factory Names folder

Open your OMS Setup application, located on your hard drive in the Opcode -> OMS Applications folder
Choose Studio -> New Device
Since the Triton will probably not show up as a device, choose
Manuf: Korg
Model: Trinity
Name: type Triton instead of Trinity
The parameters should be similar, so this should work.
Save

Now, open up the OMS Names application.
If the Triton shows up as a device there, click in the box under "Patch Name Document" next to the Triton.
Menu bar -> Names -> Subscribe
navigate to the your System Folder -> OMS - Factory Names -> Triton document.
Save.

I don't have a midi interface hooked up to my laptop at the moment at home, so I can't guarantee the results, but this is how I would start to go about it.

Hope something here helps. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

P.S. If that file "Triton Patchlist for OMS (mac) by Francisco Roldan" from http://www.tritonhaven.com/downloads/ ends up working, let the good folks at OMS Names Libraries (Dave) know and they can add it to their growing list of patch names.

P.P.S. The www.tritonhaven.com site looks like a very good resource, and includes a user forum. For instance, there is a forum for Pro Tools there with this item:
http://www.task4.nl/th/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2739
All Forums -> Software: ProTools -> receiving multiple midi channels
