Unexpected errors with Video Engine

Hi,
On a native system (iMac late 2015, 4 GHz i7, Fusion Drive, 27", 32 GB memory, Radeon R9 graphics running 10.11.6) I'm getting a strange issue when launching the video engine:

1. First a dialog that says Unable to create index for editor slide files. To create the index, launch the editor once from an account with administrator privileges.

followed by another:

2. Media will be unavailable in the media directory: /ApplicationsPro Tools.app/Contents/Frameworks/Video Engine/AvidVideoEngine.app/Contents/SharedSupport/SupportingFiles/Avid_MediaFiles/

This is a University system and they are sing some remote user database system, but even when logged in with a local admin account I can't get it to work. Any ideas?

I just discovered this one today as well.
Like you, I am getting the same errors when running as a non-admin user. We authenticate via active directory in our environment. I wonder if that's an issue...
Anyway, I managed to get the error to disappear by opening up the permissions on the directory it's complaining about to be writable by all.
Dodgy? Yes!
Does it work? Yet to fully test, but it looks ok so far... Until the app is updated.
