Pro Tools First freezes fresh install
I've purchased the M-Audio Air 14/4 and installed Pro Tools First 2021.3.0
Activated license and seems to load up until scanning plugins. I know this is a common issue as I see guidance on how to get past bad plugins, but I feel my issue is not actually related to plugins after some debugging. I've tried all the plugin resolutions and it still freezes on this step. My machine is a late 2015 Macbook Pro i7 2.5g 16gb ram on Big Sur 11.4 The debug output ends with a stack trace error at libsystem_malloc.dylib @ 0x7fff20188000 Here are the last few lines of the debug output when it gets stuck 8668.259117,00103,0f14: PtApp_PurchasedPlugInsMgr::PopulateAllowedPlugInLi sts() For user "4bc40880-c4b8-4467-86d0-87c93890c314" complete <-- 8668.292434,00103,0b07: Sys_Init::Init() - enter - sInitializedCount = 3 8668.292441,00103,0b07: Sys_Init::Init() - leaving 8668.292444,00103,0b07: MFnd_Init::Init() - enter - sInitializedCount = 2 8668.292446,00103,0b07: MFnd_Init::Init() - leaving 8668.511932,0e507,0034: [catch_exception_raise] got mach exception: 1 8668.511982,0e507,0e0f: Access Violation: Stacktrace: 0x7fff2018e189 : - (libsystem_malloc.dylib @ 0x7fff20188000) 0x130fac621 : - (Reason Engine @ 0x130f71000) 0x130faad6a : - (Reason Engine @ 0x130f71000) 0x130e5f355 : - (ReWire @ 0x130e5b000) 0x130e5f71c : - (ReWire @ 0x130e5b000) 0x130e67617 : - (ReWire @ 0x130e5b000) 0x130e61d24 : - (ReWire @ 0x130e5b000) 0x130841ac2 : - (DigiReWire @ 0x130819000) 0x1308444e9 : - (DigiReWire @ 0x130819000) 0x12067d876 : - (AAXHost @ 0x1205de000) 0x12a0d907d : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x129fac2eb : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x129fac087 : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x129fb5726 : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x129fb55c4 : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x129fb58c5 : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x129f87437 : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x129f2eece : - (AAE @ 0x129f2d000) 0x12c09bcf2 : - (SMgr @ 0x12c004000) 0x125b15679 : - (Pro Tools @ 0x12149f000) 0x10cf18da4 : - (DFW @ 0x10ced7000) 0x10cf10978 : - (DFW @ 0x10ced7000) 0x10cf107f3 : - (DFW @ 0x10ced7000) 0x10d0d62b9 : - (DFW @ 0x10ced7000) 0x7fff230bb5fd : - (AppKit @ 0x7fff22c1c000) 0x7fff22c4b25e : - (AppKit @ 0x7fff22c1c000) 0x10d0d928b : - (DFW @ 0x10ced7000) 0x10cf10f7a : - (DFW @ 0x10ced7000) 0x126263889 : - (Pro Tools @ 0x12149f000) 0x12626c5e7 : - (Pro Tools @ 0x12149f000) 0x10c2d6f2a : - (Pro Tools First @ 0x10c2d1000) 0x7fff2037df5d : - (libdyld.dylib @ 0x7fff20368000) Any input on how to resolve this is much appreciated. |

Re: Pro Tools First freezes fresh install (Please close this thread)
Any admins, please close this thread.
I've found the issue as soon as I posted this. The issue was caused by the Reason Rewire engine. I removed the Propellerheads profile folder from the application support folder and PT loaded fine. |
