Yep, there are a lot of unhappy PT users out there. You can read that in many forums.
Of course there are also a lot of quite happy HD users. But I doubt Avid will sell many more HD systems to stay alive. But I could be wrong.
There main stay is probably the LE crowd.

A friend of mine just purchased (for a dime) an Apple G4 with a 5.1 Mix system as a backup for his 6.4 Mix system. He wants just a stable system, and he will not upgrade to HD, because his setup just WORKS and the price of HD is not justified.

I find it hard to disagree with Mr Robairs letter.

Default Re: An Open Letter to Avid from a user/instructor

and yet another post from an 'Avid-ian' with quotes like:

Adrian Haselhuber Says:
'We really want to get to the bottom of this so please keep voicing your frustrations, comments, praise, or whatever else you have on your mind.'

AND

'I’d love to hear more about how we can make you happier and more successful.'

so i guess the problem over at avid isn't hardware/software/marketing/technology related at all...they're simply deaf, dumb & blind.

this whole 'keep talking, we're listening' thing is getting so old....decades old in fact! intent without results is simply intent...and you can't sell intent. although i think avid will try.
