A nice feature but could you Pro Tool and be happy without it 3 months ago when you were running IE7? Is running IE8 or Windows Live essential to your Pro Tools workflow?

I'm not against IE8-I would like to see it fixed but I see not running IE8 as more of a irritant than a deal breaker, those running IE7, Firefox, Opera or Safari are completely unaffected.

I'm certain that a fix will be issued shortly.

In one of my rants I kept asking that Digi create a email service about updates. Here is a good example. If Digi sent your post as an email to all registered users, then you would only have to answer this once. (or 20 times, but less anyway.)

Hi guys, sorry to pin a question on the end of this thread, but just wondering if IE 8 is still a no-no under XP SP3 & PT's 7.4? Any cs patches or anything yet?

No patches yet - it's only certain plug-ins that cause the problem and we're working on getting them updated.

All in all, this thread points out the avantage of having a dedicated computer for PT. My studio computer is for music and nothing more. Yea, there are inconvient moments when updating or adding new plugs, but the knowledge that my music machine is safe and stable trumps that.

Besides, the old P4 computer I'm writing this on handles the internet great and is a steal at an used computer store.
