2021.6 freezing on playback

Since upgrading to 2021.6 I have noticed the pro tools freezing and not being able to do anything with the mouse for a few seconds then it goes back to normal, this is always during playback but it never crashes audio doesn't skip. Sometimes when trying to move a knob or fader on a plugin it happens too, the session is at 24/48k and cpu meter tops out at 41%. I'm on Catalina, MBP 2016, 16gb ram, 2tb ssd and record to an external ssd

I had the same behavior with 2021.6. I’m on a M1 Mac Mini. All previous version of PT were butter. I went back to 2021.3 and I have none of those issue. Every thing is smooth and easy.

Initially I figured 2021.6 wasn’t playing nice with M1 but if you get the behavior on Intel something is up.

2021.6 is a mess here. I get the momentary freezing even when saving a plugin preset.

Same here with Big Sur, Mac mini M1 highest specs!

I had the same issue. However, since I began turning off Wi-Fi while using Pro Tools, it has not happened again. I use an iLOK dongle on startup.

My WiFi is off but I’m connected to Ethernet

Same here. And I don't think it's an internet issue as I'm on Ethernet, and with Little Snitch blocking Pro Tools from connecting anywhere. Even with little snitch disabled it's still the same. Very annoying, looks like I have to sacrifice tab to transient working to avoid the problem, or even go further back.

I went back to 2021.3 , That was much much faster and I hadn’t any issue

And i have noticed one thing, while bouncing offline, the speed become half like x20. When downgraded to 2021.3, speed becomes x43 again

Noticed that while freezing it effect the delay compensation also, be aware!!

I had the slow offline bouncing/committing speeds with 2021.6 as well.
