No Control24 with the 002 !!!
I notice from your compatibility docs for the 002 that:
"Digidesign Control|24, ProControl, FaderPack and EditPack are not compatible with Digi 002 systems." Why not the Control24? Will it ever be added? This rules out the 002 for me personally.. and I already had one on order. Rail

Re: No Control24 with the 002 !!!
I wanted Firewire with my laptop.. but not to have the option of 24 faders shut out. The converters on the 002 apparently also sound better than the 001.
I have a TDM system which I can use the Control24 with.. it would be nice to be able to also use it with my 002. Rail

Re: No Control24 with the 002 !!!
It doesn't make much sense to run a Control24 in conjucntion with a 002. What would be more logical would be multiple 002 (let's say 3 max) running together or some type of extender, which I could possible see in the future. The biggest issue is how would that play against the HD systems, but a LE solution with 002 & 2 extenders would be a great way to max out an LE setup.

Re: No Control24 with the 002 !!!
sirgant : i don't think multiple-digi002 will be possible. I am waiting for years to have multiple digi001s . I had to purchase a TDM System to have as many channels as i wanted.

Re: No Control24 with the 002 !!!
What I did find interesting, though, is that the 002 is compatible with:
CM Labs Motor Mix Mackie HUI Controller JL Cooper CS-10 series (MIDI model) JL Cooper MCS 3000 series MCS-Panner Peavey PC-1600 So, if you really want 32 sliders, at least you have some options! G. |

Re: No Control24 with the 002 !!!
Midi faders aren't an option.. Midi is way too slow to control that many faders... and the resolution is worse than ethernet.
I have multiple systems, including an old 442 4 track system which was the first PT system I owned and used to do an album in the early 90's. I'm often using my large rig for one job - like recording vocals and using my MBox for tuning vocals at the same time... Or using my TDM rig at the studio and using the 001 at my client's home studio... and have to make rough mixes currently with a mouse. On a recent project I was tuning on my TDM rig and vocals were recorded to an 001 with outboard converters at the same time.... and I had to make rough mixes "in the box". The Control24 helped. I was hoping that the Control24 could be a common piece of gear between the TDM, 001 and 002 system. The 002 system I assumed was the successor to the 001 which does support the Control24. My main interest in the 002 is because it is Firewire, supports 32 tracks, has good latency if I need to record directly to it, and I thought could be allowed to use the Control24. Buying the 001 now when the 002 is available with the higher sample rate options doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I'll probably still get it for all the other reasons.. but I'm dissapointed. As for pre-ordering.. well I can always cancel.. I knew the compato docs would be posted before the 002 was available for purchase. Best regards. Rail
