Default Plugs that were formerly HW inserts don't save new plugins?

I'm having a problem where I have a session. I import session data. Some tracks used to have hardware inserts, but I'm importing new plugs in their place. I work on the session and then save and close. When I open the session again, the hardware insert (greyed out because it no longer exists) is in the place of the plug in that was imported.

I'm on 10.3.9 on mac os 10.8.5. I have trashed all prefs/setups etc.

Anyone else have this experience?

Hi,

Try completely removing the hardware insert first, then insert your replacement plugin, or after you've removed the hardware insert, use a new slot to insert the plugin.

I have seen some strange things with hardware inserts when re opening sessions, especially on disabled track.

Hi Chris.

Yes, that seems to work. I removed all of the hardware inserted (deactivated) plugins before importing, and haven't had the problem so far today.

I do much prefer being lazy and not having to remove before importing, but will do so to save piece of mind.

thanks
jd
