Re: Profire 2626 DSP Mixer buffer is locked on 64 Bits
Correct, Buffer Lock Solved
As stated earlier I'm about 90% sure that Deleting the Prefs (as I should have seen in the trouble shooting folder) was what fixed it. It went to 64 upon the original load but now does reflect whatever changes that you make in the playback engine menu within PT8. The root cause of my playback problem was a bandwidth issue with my built in Firewire port. Disconnecting my External Drive and recording to the hard drive eliminated my buffer issue. I installed an additional 1TB Internal Drive and plan to install an upgraded PCI Firewire port. I apologize for my lack of info provided and I have taken the time now to read all the trouble shooting threads and will try to write more descriptive posts in the future. I do appreciate all the people that took the time to try to help with my issues and I'll do better in the future.

Re: Profire 2626 DSP Mixer buffer is locked on 64 Bits
SOLVED.
For me, the culprit was the "minimize additional i/o latency" option in the Playback Engine dialog. It is selectable only if the "ignore errors on playback/record" option is also selected. In hindsight, that's probably not a PT bug. It's probably doing exactly what it's supposed to. Honestly, I don't remember that option having been set before so I'm unsure whether I accidentally enabled it at some point or whether it was something I enabled while troubleshooting after I started noticing the problem. Either way, it's fixed now and everything is back to normal. |

Re: Profire 2626 DSP Mixer buffer is locked on 64 Bits
Ok, good to know you found the culprit! Sometimes it's the simple things - there are a lot of assumptions made that at time because of the myriad of options available. We typically assume the Playback Engine settings have been tried already but, in the future, we'll verify that in cases like these.
