Hi,

I Just installed 6.0 seems to work fine. That said. My Midi I/O is no\t coming up at all. I can't even see it being found when pro tools is being loaded. I just installed the new drivers. and still nothing any hints.

digi20000,

I have my MIDI I/O working with MIDI I/O driver 2.0.1cs2 running PT 6.01 under OS X 10.2.4. Here is what I did to get it working:

1. Installed MIDI I/O driver 1.5

2. Rebooted

3. Ran the MIDI I/O OS X firmware update that was installed with the driver.

4. Installed MIDI I/O driver 2.0.1cs2

5. Rebooted

6. Ran "Audio MIDI Setup" (in Applications folder->Utilities)
+ On the "MIDI Devices" tab, I see a "MIDI I/O 1"
+ I clicked "Add Device" and defined devices for each external MIDI device I have (i.e. DX7, ddrum4, SoundCanvas, etc.) and dragged connections to/from the in/out ports for each device and the MIDI I/O.
+ Quit Audio MIDI Setup

7. Run Pro Tools and you should be able to see the MIDI devices you added.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Mark

I did do all of that, the problem I ran into was with the firmware update. It kept looking for some scripting program and would not open. I am not a mac expert, I kept trying to open it and it just errored all the time

I am running 10.2.3 Jaquar

When I try to open the firmware update it says it cant find the scriptiing editor. I also renamed it and now everytime I re download it it is renamed.

when I originally downloaded it, it asked me for an application to open it so I choose a scrip editor and I have been ^%$#@%^ ever sinse.

Any suggestions. I am a very weak mac user

We need to figure out how to get your MIDI I/O firmware updated. I think that once you do that, it will work.

Do you have an OS9 partition that you can boot to? (Check out the System Preferences->Startup Disk). According to the MIDI I/O documentation, if you install the OS9 drivers, they will automatically update the firmware. Then you could boot back into OS X (via OS9 Control Panel->Startup Disk).

Or you could try updating to a newer version of OS X 10.2.x. I am running 10.2.4 and it looks like PT 6.1 will require at least 10.2.6.

Do you know anyone else with a Mac that could help you? Or you upgrade the firmware using their system.

Hey thanks for the advice, I spoke to Digi last Night and yes I did need to go into 9 and update the Firmware. and install the drivers. I then went back into 10 and did the same. Works like a charm. Then I did the Upgrade from 6 to 6.01 and now I am not able to get the Control 24 to work. Eerytime I scan for it. It comes up in the menu but then when I hit Ok it says it can't find it and wants me to put its personality file in the controler folder.
1) WHAT IS THE PERSONALITY FOLDER

2) WHERE IS THE CONTROLLER FOLDER

Thanks in advance

P.S I also fixed the control 24 problem. Basically I downgraded to PT 6.0 and everything worked fine.
