Does the 96 i/o support 4 channels of 96k ADAT?
I bought the Focusrite ISA 428 with digital option that allows for 8 channels of 48k ADAT optical or 4 channels of 96k ADAT optical. I cannot figure out of the DIGI 96 i/o supports the 4 channels of ADAT optical at 96k. I assumed it would when I purchased all the gear, but now it doesn't seem like it. I would be happy if someone can shed some light on this, thanks.

Re: Does the 96 i/o support 4 channels of 96k ADAT?
I have a similar doubt. I own a 8 channel RME a/d converter. However, when working at 88 or 96 Khz sample rates, the 8 channels become 4 when transfering data through the ADAT output. To maintain the 8 channel output at higher sample rates, I need to use the MAIN ADAT out plus the AUX ADAT out, in which way I could transfer 8 channels at 88 or 96 Khz. The problem is that the 96 i/o has only one ADAT input. As I am planning to buy a G5, which has an optical input, will I be able to send the AUX ADAT out of the RME adc to the G5 and have 8 ADAT voices in my Pro Tools?
thanks for the help. MAB |

Re: Does the 96 i/o support 4 channels of 96k ADAT
No, it doesn't. Only 2 channels into the optical connector at 96k and you have to set it to 'Optical = SPDIF'.
