Audinate Dante and PT9
Hi all,
Is anyone using the Audinate Dante Virtual Sound Card software as an input to PT9. I'm looking to buy a couple of the Yamaha Dante cards for a PM2000 to feed my iMac i7 / ProTools 9 rig with 32 channels. It would be nice to hear someone's making it work before I buy the hardware! Any comments, bugs, tips or traps gratefully accepted! nick |

Re: Audinate Dante and PT9
Nick,
Thanks for the enquiry. I have tested ProTools9 with Dante Virtual Soundcard thoroughly. Please be aware of the following potential issue with a new Macbook pro- Dante Virtual Soundcard is not released as a 64 bit application on the Mac platform as yet. This means that you must boot OSX in 32 bit mode. There is a good chance that your mac may already do this, but the latest machines shipping from Apple start by default in 64 bit mode. The Mac performance guide website puts the methods for achieving this, in an easy to understand way http://macperformanceguide.com/SnowLeopard-64bit.html Otherwise, there are no problems using DVS with ProTools9 that I have encountered. Please feel free to contact Audinate technical support if you come accross any issues. Thanks Kieran |
