Default Linking same plugin parameters

So there's a feature I'm trying to recreate where one can copy an instance of a plugin to another track, and then change the same parameter of both plugins at the same time by doing it on only one plugin. It used to happen years ago without me knowing how or why.

It doesn't seem to be related to Groups as I've tried that.

It definitely *is* groups: Be sure that the plugins are linked in the groups attributes dialog.

That^^^ or instead of using the same plugin on several tracks, bus the tracks thru an AUX track(or a new routing folder) and insert a single plugin on the AUX track. You can also Ctrl-drag the plugin again(with the new change) and replace the previously copied plugin.

It was the attributes, thanks!

And thanks for the other tip, I'm already aware of it, but I wanted to learn specifically how that feature worked.
