Default INFO HERE FOR GOOD 1394a WITH PROJECT I/O & PTMP7

Hi anyone, I had a lot of bother when upgrading my Pc for PTMP,
So here's info for anyone using Project Mix I/O with PTMP7.3 in UK!
I did have a Via chipset 1394a on old m/board (msi) but ended up with
distortion/clicks & pops on new Intel Q6600 with Gigabyte m/bd.
I tried everything then, with help from fellow people on this forum
its sorted!

Yeah, You will need to buy compliant Digidesign Firewire card.
You can buy the SIIG NN-440012-S8 (RoHS compliant)1394a
firewire card from www.tickpc.co.uk There based in Somerset.
It cost £36 including VAT & Postage to Glasgow! Ordered it on Friday
and it was at my door on Tues morn. But it was worth it!

Good guitar signal from Project mix to PTMP7.3
Now i can get on with recording some good music!!
Thanks to all who gave me advise, cheers.
Check out one of my songs at www.broadjam.com/escapde

Yeah, it's unfortunate that the majority of on board FireWire ports aren't up to the task of running FireWire audio interfaces. FireWire expansion cards with Texas Instruments (TI) chipsets are the way to go. They usually eliminate a lot of the problems people experience with the on board FireWire. Glad to hear you're up and running!
