Post with Video on Catalina
I've been a bit behind on on Yosemite and PT 12 but need new machines.
I understand why QT is problematic on Catalina but help me understand a workable solution. I typically get MP4 or H.264 copies of spots (:15 - 3:00) with Embedded OMF's or AAF's. Drag everything in, mix, bounce to QT, upload for review on Simian. Easy. Now it seems I need to use ProRes or DNx? I can convert MP4 & H.264 using FFworks, and import. Do I then just bounce to QT and then use FFworks to recompress it for upload? Am I missing something? Although a few extra steps this is doable. |

No bounce to Quicktime in Catalina.

Re: Post with Video on Catalina
So I can't Bounce to Video at all?
ProRes or DnX or whatever it's called? You have got to be kidding me. I assumed you could still bounce to something and then convert that afterwards. So the premier editing and mixing software has to rely on some third party app to put the two together? Seems like just another step to make a mistake. |

Yes, that's the current deal. Can't even use QuickTime Pro 7 to marry your new audio with the existing video anymore either. Bummer!

Re: Post with Video on Catalina
VideoSlave has an option to do it, quick and easy and DaVinci Resolve is free and will do this for you too. Avid will be adding it in later versions.
It's ashame because they knew the 32-bit QuickTime code would be going, but didn't work on replacing it sooner. |

Since you are using FFWorks you can use it to add the audio track to the video...
