Default How to change fonts on all buttons (Artist/MC Control)

Hi All,

if you don't like Arial Bold and Helvetica (like me) and don't want to change every single button's font and size, here is the solution:

1. On Artist control, create a button with your favorite font and size. Let's say for example font= Casual and size=16. Name the button Test
2. close EuControl and locate the user set file of your DAW application. It is in "Library-Application Support-Euphonix-UserSets-MC2User-MC_USER_SET__Root"
3. Make a backup of this file (in case that something go wrong)
4. Open the .xml file of your DAW using Text edit
5. First, you have to identify the exact name of your favorite font and size. Open the search window (cmd-F) and search for Test. You should now find NAME="Test". You will see on the left side of this line FONT="font name" and FONTSIZE="size". In our example it should be FONT="Apple Casual" and FONT="16.0000"
6. The most used fonts on the Artist Control are Arial, Arial Bold and Helvetica. So do the following: In the search window, search for NAME="Arial Bold" and under "replace with" type NAME="Apple Casual" now hit the "replace all"-button. Repeat this step with Arial, Helvetica and ARIEL Bold (Yes, the guys from Avid have misstyped some buttons e.g. in the PT9 User set )
7. You can do the same with the font size by searching FONT="14.0000" and replace this with FONT="16.0000" for example
8. Save the .xml
9. open EuControl and your DAW
10. Have fun!!!

Hey Thats pretty cool.

Do you know if its possible to change the colors for the test over the 8 encoding knobs? I would LOVE to move away from the yellow and get a white readout...

Thanks!!

Hi Matt,

I don't think so. You can only edit the colour of softkeys and touchscreen buttons (as you do in EuControl) but this is a bit more complicated as you need to know the colour code and so on....
