Default Fresh PT 8 and OS install CRASH

10 tracks in a session
No plug ins instantiated
Clean install of 10.5
Combo updater to 10.5.5
clean install of all plug ins with latest versions
Dual 2.7 G5
6 gigs ram
Both drives were just reformatted (low level erase -1 pass erase)
Hitachi deskstar 2 partitions 75 gig System 425 gig storage
WD raptor 80 gig for audio

System Drive De-fragmanted with Disk warrior to create clean Carbon Copy Cloner in case of errors... this session was the first test after that was created. I did other tests with a couple crashes along the way but the system has been rebuilt from scratch and I was not done with everything so i didn't really worry about it much

Heres a link to the crash log and the system specs from the trouble shooting folder.

Default Re: Fresh PT 8 and OS install CRASH

Ok same specs as before but I disconnected any firewire drives.

used the "trash prefs and databases files" utility after the last crash. emptied trash and restarted

repaired permissions and shut down. . . a minute later started up then opened the session

started on the same session i spoke of earlier. 10 audio tracks no plug ins or VI's.

this second crash occurred when I tried to change the tempo after muting a newly consolidated audio region. same this happend previous to the last crash... I was changing the tempo.

I am making edits of a bunch of songs and each song has a different tempo so as I move from one song to the other i change the tempo to make grid editing easy.

after the last crash i was able to do this about 5 different times until the crash. . somewhere around the same number of tempo changes i did before the last crash.

I am changing the tempo while playback is stopped and all regions are muted (after finishing the last edit I consolidate and mute then move on the the next track resizing the tracks as needed to move from one to another)
