Ok guys.
I have Amplitube 2 but am looking for THE best guitar plug-in for Pro Tools. I want feedback from users of the four RTAS plug-ins from the topic. I need cpu use, sounds, ease of use and overall gut feelings and stuff. What is your favourite and why.

Perhaps you would find more responses in the All Things Guitar forum of the DUC, which seems better-suited for this question.
Amp simulators, just like amps, are a matter of taste. Why not download the demo versions and try them out for yourself? C. |

agree - download the demos, evaluate on your gear with your guitar. Try with your pedals and without.

i would also recommend Line6 gearbox plugin if you already own a newer pod or guitarport. cpu wise it has outperformed guitarrig and eleven. soundwise - thats just personal taste i guess... i think you can get good sound out of all of them...

you should definitely check out each one on your system. what works great for one person may not be ideal for you. personally, i love amplitube... esp the metal variety. for my own reasons, i cant stand guitar rig, but i know lots of folks love it. ill never go near GTR3, because I hate Waves and their upgrade policies.
another good amp sim is Studio Devil Virtual Guitar Amplifier. (http://www.studiodevil.com/) McDSPs Chrome Tone is good too, if you really like tweaking to get the perfect sound. (http://www.mcdsp.com)

Slightly off the subject but personally my own favourite is the sansamp psa-1. It has a wide variety of tones, no FX just tones.
Pretty cheap on ebay nowadays as well. I have amplitube live but IMHO it doesn't even get close. No update crap to deal with, a digi plug and neglible CPU hit. Cheers
