Hello! I'm having mutiple issues on my system which I thought was excellent when I put had it made a couple years ago. PT 8.0.4cs2 freezes when loading at "Initializing Globals". I'm able to get past that by shutting down my Digi 003, then shutting down PT and then restarting Digi 003 and restarting PT 8. Then during sessions, I have been getting errors 9094 - increase HW buffer in playback engine. I increase it and then get error 6085. These errors are intermittent so I'm sometimes able to get through a session and sometimes not. Here's my Sandra report:

Hey Mike - This is Mike!
Since nobody took an interest in helping on this, I thought I'd post what I've done so far, which resulted in things working well for now. My buffer error turned into PT8 not loading past "initializing globals" or to "DAE...". Too many steps to remember but I think what worked was to update the plug-ins. I also uninstalled plug-ins that I never use. At one point I went into the system devices area and updated the protools driver. That got it working but as soon as I went to restart Windows, it wouldn't shut down or boot with the 003 turned on. I then reinstalled pt8.04cs2 and it worked fine and Windows would shut down and boot with the 003 powered up. I had previously done all the optimizations and tweaks suggested, though disabling speed stepping is a problem for my system, so I had to set that back to enabled. I think the plug-ins were the issue. Don't know for sure which or why - maybe just needed to be updated. If I run into any issues in the future, I'll start with emptying the plug-ins folder and reintroducing them until I find the culprit, or just settling with my favorites only. For now, things are running well and seem stable. Just in time for FAWM www.fawm.org (February Album Writing Month). ![]() |
