Default Pro tools mbox 2 connection issue.

I've been using my 2011 macbook Pro without the Mbox 2 for a while and, now that I am trying to using it again, I am getting a very strange connection issue: It is clear that the computer has connected to the Mbox because it connects and functions fine in Garage Band, but when I open Pro Tools, all of my inputs are greyed out and inactive. I have already tried going into the hardware setup but, even after going into the Audio/Midi dialogue and unchecking the Internal Input, Output, and Microphone in the pro tools aggregate device, the "Peripherals" list back in the Hardware setup window still reads Built-In Output, and the inputs are still inactive. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
