Default Pro Tools LE Beta Test for Windows XP

Pro Tools LE Beta Test for Windows XP

Digi 001 or AudioMedia III owners -

Digidesign has initiated a new “eBeta” (External Beta) test program available to Digi 001 and AMIII owners with computers running Windows XP, Home Edition. If you are interested in participating in this beta program please read on…

Our goal is to make Pro Tools LE compatible on a wide variety of Windows XP based computers. We will select eligible volunteers that promptly respond with details of their computer configuration. If selected, you will be given access to download Beta versions of Pro Tools LE for Windows XP. Participants will use a private discussion forum for all communication to Digidesign of critical bugs that you find and results of specific tests that we ask you to run.

If you'd like to be considered for participation in this eBeta you will need to provide information about the computer that you will use. In order to create a configuration report for your computer please use SiSoftware's Sandra 2002 Standard and follow these steps:
  1. Download SiSoftware Sandra 2002 Standard from any of the web sites listed at this URL: http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sa...html/dload.htm
  2. Unzip and run the Sandra Standard installer (Setup.exe). After installation, run SiSoftware Sandra and select “File” -> “Create A Report Wizard”
  3. Follow the on screen instructions to create a report. IMPORTANT: Leave every option checked on the “Information Modules” page. Uncheck all items on the “Benchmarking Modules” and “Listing Modules” pages. For the “Report Delivery” page select "Web / Html format (.htm)" and uncheck the "compress report (.cab)" option. For the Final step rename "System Report.htm" to your last and first name (e.g. "LastFirst.htm" where "Last" is your last name and "First" is your first name). Click the check box "OK" to create the report.
  4. Send the complete report back to Digidesign along with any personal information you'd like to include about how you use Pro Tools LE and whether you use a Digi 001 or AudioMedia III to: [email protected]

If you are selected to participate in our eBeta program, we will reply to your email with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) within 3 business days. You must then reply to the NDA, accepting the agreement in full to keep information relating to this program confidential. After we receive your NDA email we will send you account information for accessing the beta downloads of Pro Tools LE for Windows XP and discussion forums.

Periodically we will ask participants to try certain tests and post results in the discussion forum. Participants will post other bugs in this forum as well. Continued access to updated beta software will require continued participation in the discussion forum.

It is very important that participants understand that there is no guarantee that Digidesign will fix all bugs, compatibility issues or performance issues reported to us. After our first release on Windows XP we will be able to address further issues deferred from the initial release.

Restrictions:

  • After the initial setup all eBeta communication will only be through the discussion forum.
  • Technical support on this product will not be available during the test period.
  • Your CPU must be a Pentium 3 or higher OR an Athlon Thunderbird or higher.
  • You must be running Windows XP (The Beta will only run on Windows XP)
  • You will not be able to use an audio application via the Digidesign WaveDriver during this beta.
  • You must be willing and able to download 50MB-100MB files at a time to your computer.
  • You must not disclose any information or results relating to this project.[/list]
    Thanks!

    Digidesign Windows XP eBeta Team

Default Re: Pro Tools LE Beta Test for Windows XP

The Pro Tools LE Windows XP beta program is very busy and progressing quite nicely. We have now reached the limit on the number of beta testers we can accept for this program. This means that no further applications can be accepted.

Thank you to everyone who sent in your configuration reports!

Because of the nature of software development, we are not able to announce a specific time when development and testing will be completed, but we do wish to thank all of you for your efforts and your continued patience with this very important project.

Regards,

Digidesign Windows XP eBeta Team
