This is actually the same problem that's happening across all sectors of the creative industry (music/movies/publishing/software...) thanks to the digital revolution.

You mean like all those people who bought Saturns ?

I find myself more and more looking hard at the longevity of plugin manufacturers. In most cases if the business dumped a product with no support, i simply stop buying any of their other products. It is inevitable for most things digital however.

As a result I personally seem to be more and more vested in Waves products over time. People complain about WUP to the worlds end, but its working for them and they have the funding to continue to support their products.

And its all happening again across the board right now with the whole AAX and PT11 thing. Some manufacturers simply are not upgrading ( Like NI for example , not that they have anything I can't live without )

I stressed for a long time about loosing all these things Im used to having, but what I've found is its forced me to be innovative. I've got to find new solutions and while that may change what I do and how I do it, taking me out of my comfort zone has been a good thing and I feel like Im innovating again instead of lather, rinse , repeat.

You might want to check with NI on this one.

"...the real rip off is the amount of people stealing software and this punishes those buying it..."

It is too bad and their plug-in's do sound great.

Stay stock and worry not.
