Default Memory Locations Categories

Can you recommend a workflow to create different categories of Memory Locations.
Let's say you spot a programm and want to mark all the specific moments where FOLEY is needed, where HARD EFFECTS are, and so on...

And later be able to hand the FOLEY List only to another Editor.

Soundflow has a little utility that allows you to save and load different marker sets. I used it on my last film and it worked brilliantly.

Otherwise the standard way is with empty clip groups, particularly for marking ADR and Foley as they can also show duration as well as start point.

Pro tools really should have multiple marker lanes in this day and age.

I do the region group thing. In addition to the advantages Cheesehead mentions (go Packers!), you can also print out lists with something like PT Session (free), which is helpful to some editors and if there's a way to do that with markers, I don't know it.

This.

Create tracks for categories of need. Create clip groups on those tracks for the length of the cue. Lots of typing space.

Region groups also conform. You can have as many tracks as you need, color them, and edit them. Much more flexible than PT's ridiculously limited markers.
