Unable to firmware update 002R

Hi

Please help before I go crazy.

Just installed LE 7.1 and lastest cs updates on my G4 Powermac. During 002R system firmware updating the connection between 002R and the Mac disconnects. So no firmware updating is possible. Why does that happens. I'm loosing my mind. I don't know what to do.

Does the 002 disconnect any other time ? It's probably the power harness. Do a search on power harness, and you'll find stacks of info on what to do.

no, it's not power harness.... Same thing happened to me a while ago when I tried to update my 002's firmware to v1.20... During the update the progress bar just stopped and the machine lost communication with the computer... Digi told me to send it back but I didn't do it since it would cost quiet a lot to send it half way around the world

anyways, if you come up with a solution, pls post it here... I'll do the same...


Aaaaight guys, I did it!!!!!

You need to press ESC + Display + REC at the same time and hold them down while turning 002 on... It's gonna reset to factory settings. Fantastic that I'm able to use it again after that much time!!!

Unfortunetly, the 002r doesn't have a firmware updater the way the 002 does. If it's not the power harness issue, then you're going to have to send it in to Digi or bring it into an Authorized Repair center.
