32bit audio file import to PT? Files show up as 16bit?

It was not possible to import 32bit audio into Pro Tools, now I have found that 32bit audio files show up as 16bit audio in Import Audio window and they can be imported.

Is this a bug? Should I still convert the 32bit files to 24bit in another program and only import then or what?

Yes, that would be the way to go.

Ok, thanks! Please forward the issue to someone this might be interesting. A lot of times I don't pay much attention when importing files and just do it. I stress out to people in general NOT to send me 32bit files. Would be a shame to import 32 bit files as 16 bit and loose all that data.

Hi,

Audioease Snapper and even itunes can convert to 24 bit from 32 bit.
