No sound, windows

I'm new to this forum, just downloaded Pro Tools First. I'm showing I'm recording (waveform) but can't hear sound on replay. I was running through headset through Focusrite box. Tried sound with headset, without. I'm 70 and not that versed in computers. Like to have never downloaded software, lol. Any help or direction is appreciated. I tried to contact pro tools, no luck, can't get through to support, because I don't have a customer number support plan. I'm sure it is something from my download or initial set up. Don't mind paying for support, but since it is on initial start up, doesn't seem right. looking at a few of the other threads, I can get sound from my lap top. When I have my Focurite box with headset hooked up, I can get sound through the headset. Just no sound when I play back, the drums, etc. or voice recording on PTF. Thanks

Hi and welcome , if on windows first while launching Protools press the N key and within the spash screen select the propper hardware engine. If that doesnt work or have any trouble with it, go to windows sound settings and set another audio card as default there NOT the one PT is gonna be using. If the problem persist try using the Asio4all driver instead the native one for your card. Hope this helps.

Thanks, So far, I just downloaded the asi driver, but still nothing. I appreciate the help.

Make sure that Windows isn’t using your interface as the default sound device.

I'm still having trouble with sound from Pro Tools First. Do you know of a way to actually contact AVid? On their help line, you have to have a service contract. This is from initial download. I'm getting sound on my laptop, but if I try to run a recording in PTF I can see the soundwave but no actual sound. I'm kind of lost. Can I come back on the forum and put in another post with basic details of my set up boxes?

Please watch video from member benoni to fix your problem. Unless you have a audio interface you have to install a asio4all driver and your good to go
