Also there are changes in PT 12..... while a lot of it is under the hood - there are new enhancements.

I saw Protools 11.5 listed on the splash screen in the videos and webinars that Tom Graham, Gil Gowing, and Tony Caridi did at NAB (and shortly thereafter) last year showing off the new track freeze and collaboration features. Also in a local Avid Everywhere demo here in Tulsa hosted by Avid themselves last December.

Ahhh thanks for answering. Sometimes they put a stake in the ground with a version # at the beginning of coding and then change it as it gets closer to launch date.

What does mean?

If Avid could be more specific about these "under the hood improvements" that would be appreciated otherwise it sounds an aweful lot like a Car mechanic "bunch of technical stuff you wouldn't understand, just trust us.

Marianna is a "customer advocate". That seemed to me to be a pretty aggressive way to interject into the thread. Polite but aggressive. Not much advocating in my opinion. But what do I know I'm just a customer.

it's the underling changes that need to be in place for the new features and licensing to work

it's a lot like construction, you can't just add a second floor to a house without beefing up the foundation to support it (and it's were a good chunk of the budget goes) or the whole thing falls down

You don't let people move in on the second floor with only the foundation being beefed up, though.

This is so messed up, one can hardly do anything but laugh at it. What kind of deluded people run this company? I'd love to see them go under and hope, the brand "Pro Tools" will be bought by a company with a different set of goals and a different set of skills.
