Default Selecting multiple files in Clip List doesn't select them in the Timeline

Hello everybody,

I know that selecting multiple files in the Timeline selects them in the Clip List, but the opposite doesn't seem to happen. I'm working with thousands of audio files (audio game dubbing) and this feature would be really nice to have. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks
Vasco

There's a preference setting for this that has been in PT for a long time. IIRC, it's in the editing section of the preferences, and it's called something like: "Edit selection follows clip selection".

I think it does not apply to selecting multiple clips which is what the OP asked. Though if the object tool is selected, then the multiple clips will appear highlighted on the timeline.

I see. Now that I'm in front of PT, I understand. I'm in 11.2.0 HD and I can't get multiples clips to highlight even with the object tool selected.

Show auto-created on?
Cleared search?
Show audio on?

From the clip-list menu.

It will only work when you clear your search and also show all audio incl auto-created. It will also only work in one direction so I think what you want will not work when selection multiple in the clip-list.

frank.

Selecting multiple clips in the Clip List and right-clicking "Object Select in Edit Window" : that does it for me. With the Object Tool selected, they can be moved/copied all at once.
What shall be achieved ?
