Default Difference between 192 I/O and current HD I/O

I apologize if this has been covered before (I did search!) but what exactly are the benefits of the current model "HD I/O" versus the previous generation "192 I/O". I see the latter going for attractive prices on eBay.

Thanks.

The main benefit is greatly improved sound quality. It's not that the old 192 was bad, it's just that the new ones are on a whole new level, among the tops in the industry right now.

Another benefit is the expansion. On the old 192, you could have up to 16 in/8 out, or 16 out/8 in (analog).

The news are up to 16 in/16 out on just one unit. By the way, if you think you might be adding expansion cards later on, it's way cheaper to just get the 16 x 16 version now, rather than getting the 8 x 8 and adding cards later.

And the last thing is that they look cooler.

New power supply and a new and much better clock component plus what everyone else has said.

The 8 x 8 x 8 can take 8 analogue in and out and 8 Adat in and out straight up though can't it?

Is there an equal improvement against a 192 running with a Big Ben as clock?
