Default System crashes and error message -6088

I have been using the Mbox 2 mini for about a year, but just upgraded to the 003 rack. My computer didn't have firewire so i bought an express card that gave me firewire and hooked it all up. I'm running Protools 8 on a Gateway PC with a 500gHD and 4g of ram.

Now while I'm trying to run my new EZdrummer program i keep getting an error message. it says something about holding off interrupts for too long and to increase the buffer size, its error message -6088, but i have increased and adjusted every setting i know to and it still aint workin. Also my computer will crash and dump system memory every now and again. Today it crashed 3 times in an hour.

The program will only run for a couple of minutes or so before shutting down. or crashing. But the error message only appears after we have drug the loops from EZdrummer into protools.

I'm not the best computer mind either so explaining how to fix this problem to me like im a 5 year old will in no way hurt my feelings. I would really apprieciate the help.

Here are the specs

Gateway MD7818U - Core 2 Duo T6400 2 GHz running windows 7 home addition 64bit

A Dynex 800 port firewire express card with a 800 to 400 firewire cable aprox 4ft long

With a digidesign 003 rack using the software that came with the Mbox 2 mini wich was ProTools LE 8.0 but done the update to the 8.0.1 when protools prompted me to.

Running 4GB of RAM

Im recording to the standard 500GB hard drive.

As already requested in your other thread, we need the specific information that is requested in the "Help us help you" post.

I will copy the instructions here for you:
Quote:
Windows users need to provide a Sandra report

- Please - Use SiSoftware's Sandra Lite application to generate a full system profile:

www.sisoftware.co.uk

Under SiSoftware Sandra, click on "Download & Buy" to download the free Sandra Lite version or purchase other versions. After installing Sandra, click on the 'Hardware' tab and run the 'Computer Overview', then copy and paste into your post here on the DUC.

The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for Tech Support and other users to assist you - take the time now to document everything you can and you'll save time in the long run. We can't express enough the importance of describing everything in extreme detail - remember, no one here can see how your gear is configured, so we need an accurate description by you to get a clear picture. The better we can envision your setup, the easier it will be to troubleshoot.

If you have been referred to this thread and reply without providing the information requested above, including the Sandra report for Windows users, your post is very likely to be given lower priority in favor of those who have provided complete information.
(color and emphasis are from the original post).

Please follow those instructions: it will make it immensely easier to help you.

At first glance, I'm betting your firewire card is incompatible, but until we have that specific information, it's just a guess.
Also, You need to have 8.0.4 installed to be using W7 64.

If you are having copy/paste problems, then you may have bigger general computer issues to solve.

When you say "It won't let me copy" exactly what happens?

I run the computer overview in the program i downloaded and when it comes up it doesn't give me the option to copy. It just has everything listed. It will highlight it, and if you double click certian specs it takes you to description of what it is. ie i double click on the processer and it tells me what the processer does with a link to wickopedia.

After the sandra program shows you the results, with the results window still open, press ctrl+c (the standard windows "copy to clipboard" hotkey) or click on the second button from the left on the bottom of the program ("Copy to clipboard").

ctrl + v to paste here.

Unfortunately, integrated graphics are not supported. I'm surprised that you had the MBox mini running on this system; you were lucky. It shouldn't have.

While this is separated into two partitions, it is only one physical hard drive (the system drive) and it is too slow for Pro Tools use. Again, I am surprised the Mbox mini worked. It should not have. You were lucky

I don't see the dynex firewire controller you were talking about in this report at all. If it were installed correctly, it would show up. Are you sure you ran the report with everything connected? You need to run the report on the computer EXACTLY AS IT IS when you run Pro Tools.

This absolutely MUST be disabled when using Pro Tools. No exceptions.

And again, to run the 003 on Windows7 64, you need to have 8.0.4 installed. (or at least 8.0.3 and the 8.0.4 beta drivers)

Ok. Now were getting somewhere. And the Mbox was running fine but i had this problem with it too, but not near as much. It would run for hours just fine and then i would get the error message about held off interupts. but do i need to have the 003 hooked up too or just the express card. And yes it is John Wayne, i was watchin it lastnight and haven't takin it out of the cd drive yet.
