Default Will anyone be kind enough..?

Scenario: iMac mid 2008, 2.66Ghz, 20", 4Gb Ram, Lacie firewire drive.

Pro Tools 7.4.2

Leopard 10.5.3

Mbox 2

A few tracks with a few light plugins, 3 or 4 max (buffer size on 512 for record latency)

15 seconds to 20 working...

RESULT: Cpu Overload message. "..try to increase buffer size, remove plugins/tracks,etc.."

Increase buffer size to maximum, and all other options to maximum. The same error...

I think the answer should be: " iMac not yet qualified by digidesign.." Right?

Many Thanks

Juca,
Doubt that is the case - there is something going on with this release (see other threads about this topic)

I'm sure someone smart can figure this out!

What's the error number in the message?

Can you use the Tech Support Utilities to post a list of all installed plug-ins and version numbers?

i thought splashin out to upgrade from g4 001 set-up in january would give me what i needed to take my productions mobile to work with clients in london. right now my new set-up remains utterly useless and i cant get any help from digidesign

Hi, the error number is: (-9128)

The message is: "You are running out of CPU power. Remove some RTAS plug-ins or increase the CPU Usage Limit in the Playback Engine dialog.
(-9128)

The session had Ez drummer, IK Amplitube 2 ( 1 instance) GearBox ( 2 ) and 2 reverbs (Waves Master Verb) on aux tracks.

But it happens with a project with only one track, amplitube LE, and recording.

I have aside my Lacie Firewire, one Iomega USB for my other account. I always disconnect it when running the Pro Tools account. The Iomega is connected via a powered HUB, where I connect my keyboard along with printer, iPod Touch, the Iomega and then back to the Mac. So i disconnect the HUB and the keyboard goes straight into the Mac. No HUB is present on Pro Tools.

The Mbox 2 is straight into the Mac along with Guitar Port, so I can run the GearBox plug.

This account is tweaked with tinker tool to minimize or disable every fancy Leopard effects.

On Pro Tools, airport is off, I removed all network devices (bluetooth, ethernet, firewire) except for airport.

Activity monitor shows me 47 processes for this account, no login itens except for Digi stuff.

And 4Gb of Ram.

Many Thanks in advance for your support.

Here they are:

I runned the script from the tech support folder, with the 2 option. It removed the plugs to a folder called: Unlicensed Plugins. Them I mannualy put them on the Pro Tools plugin folder and got a new error number: (-6105)

My plugs are all original, so here is the List:

Are all those plug-ins definitely up to date and compatible with 10.5? What happens if you remove the 3rd party plug-ins from your PT plug-ins folder then try running PT?

Slim, thanks for your feedback. Running the terminal command found inside the tech support folder, and selecting the 2 option, it removes all 3rd party plugins.

Never tried PT without that setting. I'm going to try today, and I'll see on the web if the plugs are compatible with Leopard and PT.

One thing I did notice was, since I disconnected the HUB, things are going better, even with 3rd party plugs. But the HUB was only for devices that were disconnected when running PT! Don't really understand that. It's like if PT knows they are there... Even being the usb drive, printer and ipod disconnected, the HUB was connected for the keyboard. This was a way to expand my ports.

Many Thanks
