Lost Communication With Audio Interface -6097

I am getting frequent "Lost Communication With Audio Interface -6097" errors. I know this has been asked before, but wondering if there is any more certainty about what might causing this, and how to determine.

Once I clear the dialogue it usually restores itself with the Digi002 after a few seconds.

Some plugins in use include: Izotope Nectar, SampleTank 2 (5 patches), EZ Drummer, Amplitube, Eleven free, Sans Amp, + Wav Compressors, Maxim, EQs...


I'm using quite a few plugins (I think -- I'm not sure how many I can expect.)
I'm connected to the Digi002 via a Firewire drive (WD Studio Book).

I thought you were supposed to connect the 002 first then the HD????

With several of those plugins your going to have to be running one less processor in playback engine else your going to be plagued with errors. So if you dual core run 1 processor, quad core run 3 etc.

The preferred chain is computer>drive>interface with firewire. Since the 002 is subject to the infamous power harness issue, I always have to ask, can you test the 002 on another system? Or if its the mixer version, will it enter stand alone mode and operate correctly?

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know about running 1 processor... I thought 2 would be the way to go. I'll try that later today and see if it fixes things.

I had the 002 harness replaced a few years ago. Yes the mixer works without problems most of the time, and stand-alone is good.

Yes this is what I have. (btw -- will adding another drive in daisy chain make it worse?) i.e. computer>dirve1>drive2>002?
