Default Drum solution needed.

I have a DIGI 002r and 6.1.1. and I'm looking for a good drum machine set up. THe guy at Guitar Center turned me on to Battery by Native Instruments. But I need other stuff to get Battery working inside Pro Tools. For one I need a VST-RTAS wrapper, and this is where I stand. WHat controller or pad something should I get. I have a few hundrede bucks in pocket and by the end of my spending I would like to open up a track in Pro Tools and then start banging beats. Help.

Give Reason a try. I really like the drum machine and the sounds are very very good.

I use an older Roland Octapad with sticks and a real bass drum peddle hooked up.I think the current version is the SPD-8 or something like that. The next step up is something like the Roland V-Dums(full set of pads).

i'm assuming you bought battery and the vst wrapper here, so if i'm wrong about that let me know...

1) hook the midi out of the mpd to midi in of your 002R.
2) create an aux track and insert battery, then load a kit
3) create a midi track and set the input to 002 midi in and the output to battery
4) rec enable the midi track
5) start banging...

if that doesn't work, then you have the channels mixed up. try setting the input of your midi track to all midi inputs.

No, I just bought the controller and Intakt. I'm still waiting on the wrapper for a few days to deal with Battery. But I still can't control Battery in Stand Alone mode using the ASIO Driver. But what I want to do now is be able to comtrol Intakt with my new controller. I have everything hooked as you said above and I have input from Intakt into Pro Tools. I just need to figure out how to assign some sounds to those pads. Thanks.
