Using VVTR w/ Aja Kona 3 - Switch to BlackMagic

I've been using the VVTR with a Kona 3 Aja card for years but most of the time it's overkill and dealing with rapid picture changes with H.264 files can be a PITA.

Thinking of pulling it all into my PT rig for simple sessions for ease of use.
Which Black magic card will I need to Feed my monitor via HD/SDI?

Or maybe Mark can update VVTR?
I can play long gop files (HD Cam / ex etc) smoothly out of the AJA Kona in final cut pro, but VVTR cannot play them properly - needs the frame buffer and they are twitchy as hell - like 1995 when we started with QT video in Protools!!!
(It's not my system - it is run of an 8 core Intel machine)
I am thinking of doing the same - but have HD3 - so my mac is filled with cards.

The basic "Decklink" card will do you right, for $295. It has HD-SDI i/o and sync input.

I didn't see the basic card on the approved list. If it is an approved device that would be perfect.

Yes the Decklink SDI works fine. All Decklink cards use the same driver therefore should all work. I've successfully used older Decklink PCIx cards in a G5.
We are pulling our Virtual VTR's as well.
