if ur pro tools system is not broke dont fix it
U dont have to jump on every minor upgrade
i know ppl on 6.9 that make a living recording
i dont spend my money to complain
it is a waste off time
Since u spent money on pro tools LE limited edition
y do u complain about the limitations of a limited edition
did u not read what it can an cant do b4 u got it

Until im getting paid(five figures + @ a time) this is a hobby
and a hobby should be an asset
i record an mix for ppl and i would luv a uad solo
but i willnt buy until i make enough money off recording an mixing.

finally after watching some videos on the airusersblog.com with all the free sounds tips and advice on pro tools 8 (stock no extras )
makes me wonder if its the system (pt) or the user that sucks

I agree with your sentiment.

For me, this is a hobby. I can afford to upgrade with indifference. Plenty of people make a living, or at least supplemental income, using LE. If this is the case, upgrade as if money depended on it (since it does).

While LE is "limited", it is still full-featured and LIGHTYEARS ahead of high-end gear from 20 years ago. If you don't like Pro Tools, there are plenty of alternatives. There are "issues" with all of them. I walked away from Cubase SX because I didn't like it. Some people love Cubase.

That should not stop us from suggesting and inquiring about upgrades and features. However, if you do not feel the company is responsive, the best way to deal with it is spending money on a competitor that does.

i agree totally. i almost posted something like this, but i controlled myself.

i hate it when people blame whatever issue they are having on digi. i mean, i have the exact same computer as some, but my system works perfectly. in fact, i have never had any problems with any version of protools le on mac since version 6.(whatever).

it has ALWAYS worked as advertised for me.

it is either user error, or the machine is not setup properly. (which i guess technically is user error).

And don't forget cracks. some of those "cracks" like the one that resets the 30 day trials of plugins usually wreak havoc on your computer and cause crashing, not to mention the cracks that actually try to rewrite part of the plugin to bypass the authorization section. Crash city.

9 times out of 10, when someone I know is constantly complaining of crashes, it can be traced back to a crack/hack they got for plugins at one time or another. Even if they deleted the plugins that were cracked or stop using the trial reset file... problems can still remain. Clean install of the OS and the software (without the cracks) puts the program back in perfect working order.

That (among a bunch of other reasons) is why I am a big supporter of buying the plugins that you use.
