Default Crackling with Aggregate on 12.7

Hello, wise folk.

I've had the following I/O setup for quite some time with no issues:

Aggregate of S3 via AVB and Focusrite Sapphire 2/2 via USB. S3 is the clock source. Both set to 48KHz.

I updated to 12.7 and the hardware allocation changed to just S3. I had a VO session that morning, so I left it as was - all was well. After the session I reset it to my aggregate, and the random crackling has started. I've toggled error correction, changed my buffer - to no avail. Is this a 12.7 issue telling me to bin the Focusrite? It's very handy for accessing mic inputs.

It is - of course - not a Sapphire - or a Saffire [sic] - but a Scarlett 2i2.

Try a search, there have been reported issues with Focusrite and the latest Mac OS X where the I/O is separated into In and Out in Playback. IIRC a solution was posted.

The few times I've used aggregate, I noticed that if I didn't have my master/slave clock set up properly I ended up with crackles and pops. Make sure you have the master clock device set as your primary device in the aggregate.

Many thanks folks. I searched before posting, but found nowt; I'll retry.

S3 is the clock source in everything - but I'll double-check.

Thanks again.
