HD or LE as a present for my Mother?
Hi,
Its that time of year and the old Mother, bless her, has asked for a Pro Tools rig for her present, but she didn't give me any clue as to which one! so i need some advise... She's pushing 80 and likes Perry Como and a bit of Opera, so should i get an HD rig or an LE one? She's got 73% hearing loss, so i thought LE would probably be ok, If its load enough!! or has the HD version got more headroom?? phewww so many things to consider. I really need some help on this one guys Chris

Go HD and don't forget the D-Control, you don't expect mom to mix with a mouse do you?

Wait a sec, doesn't the "m" in mbox stand for "Mom"?

Re: HD or LE as a present for my Mother?
C'mon you greedy sun. Your mother grew you up, and now she is even not willing to ask you what she really needs. As you wrote she is an old woman, so she might be pleased by remembrence of her younger days. Get her something analog!
That means that you don't have to buy a newer SSL XL 9000 K Series. A simple SSL 4000 would be enough for her. Of course you'll need to add some more channels for a total 96. .....Take in account that its power supply will serve your mom good even when she'll pass away. Happy new year!

Re: HD or LE as a present for my Mother?
Give her a Fostex 4 track cassette and call it a day. If you go HD, you will be inundated with tech support calls.
