Default midi latency…?

seems when i have midi tracks triggering a virtual instrument(stylus dmx) there is noticeable delay when i have delay compensation on.
if i put the midi info on the virtual track itself, it seems fine.
and when i had the midi track going to the VI then recorded to an audio track, it was in sync while recording, but the recorded audio was delayed upon playback.
is there a setting for midi stuff to sync it along with audio for delay compensation?

thanks...

I had a similar problem recently and turning off Preferences > MIDI > Delay Compensation For External Devices: Notes And Controllers fixed it.

Nearly drove me insane until I found out what it was as the preference is stored individually per session - so it was fine for some sessions and didn't work for others.

Yup. Was gonna mention the same solution. You beat me to it but that's great. The info got out there. Amazing that the Avid guys don't mention this in ANY documentation anywhere.
