Default Grid Lock? Adjusting tempo not moving the start of a track?

This maybe a stupid one, but cant seem to find an answer anywhere...
Could be because i dont know how i would even call it?

So i am having the start of a certain track in PT on a grid of the 10th bar.
When adjusting tempo in that session, is there a way that the start of the file, keeps locked somehow to the grid of the bar, preferable the same one?

How would you call it? Locked to grid...?

best, matt

There are two modes that tracks work in
Sample based - where the regions reference time
Tick Based - where regions reference tempo

see the little blue dot (in 7.4) below the track name on the edit page
click and hold that button and you will have a selection
tick or sample
change this and it will behave the way you want it to.
