Go to your Pro tools folder and delete the pro tools registration file. You can move it to another folder if you don't want to deleted.

Default "Welcome to Avid Product Registration" window!

"Welcome to Avid Product Registration" window appears once an hour or even twice on my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro in my studio! I have all the latest versions of PT10HD and PT11HD and have registered them many years ago (from PTHD7 etc) I even select the option "never register", but it repeats again and again!

I moved both files to a folder in the desktop.

It didn't appear again!
One hour and half without the such window! It appeared at least one o two times per hour. Some times each 10 minutes.

Default Industry Standard pop ups

Hey Guys,

what can I do against regular Pop ups from AVIDs industry standard for music?

The attached pop up reappears repeatingly although I confirmed, exited and cancelled several times.

Is it okay in your oppinion, not to agree to get those kind of messages .
Maybe there is a way to switch them off at least manually, leaving it to the customer to register when intended.

PS: Is it true that you have to pay a regular fee now to have the chance of common updating to AVIDs ProTools in the future?
I also heard that if you miss the consecutive versions you are forced to buy a new version charged full price. I guess its just a Myth, okay...

I've only ever gotten that message when I installed a new version of PT; strange you're getting it on a regular basis. Is your iLok2 plugged in and working with the PT11 license asset on it?

As to your last question:
To get any new version of PT you have to pay a fee. For subscription it's $29 US per month and yearly it's $199 US. Both of those plans also get you some level of support from Avid. The big difference is with the subscription if you don't pay the fee from month to month your install of PT will cease to run but with the yearly if you don't make the next year's fee your PT install will continue to run. However, if you skip that next year's fee you can't just pay the $199 the next time you want to upgrade PT but you have to buy a whole new license asset. This is for non-HD customers as Avid hasn't released the full details for their DSP using customers.

Currently upgrading to PT12 gets you a combo license asset for PT10, PT11 and PT12. Do note that PT12 install will overwrite a PT11 install if it's on the same boot partition unless you rename the PT11 install. Also remember that PT10 is not supported for OSX Mavericks and above.

Did you upgrade to v11? If so, did you uninstall the previous version?

This is an ongoing issue with older versions (as you can see from the thread your post was merged into) and can be solved by following the instructions here.

Thanks for your quick answers. I actually run v10, came back from 11, but never did an uninstall on 11. Will try some of your ideas, sure.
