Default Metallic Sound When Trying to Record??

I just subscribed to Pro Tools 12 and I tried to record a bit just to make sure everything was working the way I would expect. Unfortunately, whenever I record, a strange metallic sound comes in. Does anyone know what this is/how to get rid of it? (I tried to attach the audio track but I can't upload a .ptx, sorry) I'm really confused. Thanks!

Yeah, record something other than metal!

Seriously, tho, it looks like whatever you're recording there is clipping...that might have something to do with it...Unless those waveforms are actually being randomly generated, in which case, I have no idea...

There's definitely clipping.

Try exporting your session (with the metallic sound) in wav or mp3 and post it

Feedback loop?

BTW, .ptx is a Pro Tools session file, not an audio file.
