Default Midi CC automation

Is there a way to use a Midi CC to control an automated parameter with M-Powered?

For example, I want to use the modulation wheel on my Axiom keyboard to adjust the frequency of a high pass filter.

Another similar question: Is is possible to use the amplitude of a track to control the level of an EQ? For example: Use the amplitude of the Kick drum to automate the gain of a band pass filter on the bass.

The answer to your first question depends on whether or not your plug in supports MIDI continuous controller input. As far as I know, DigiRack plug ins do not.

The answer to your second question is yes, many if not all DigiRack plug ins support side chaining and key inputs. Page 22 of the v7.3 DigiRack plug in guide should give you a pretty good launch point. Jon E.

The EQ built into pro-tools does not have a side chain input.

If we are talking the standard plugins that come with Pro-Tools 7.4 the answers are really No and No?

The only plugin with a side chain that I can find is the compressor. What EQ has a side chain input for Pro-Tools?

There has to be another way besides a side chain. Can the midi controller be mapped to faders or knobs in any way?
